This model allows us to spend more time with you while keeping cost low, removes unnecessary layers between you and your provider, eliminates co-pays and other surprise after-visit fees seen with traditional insurance based care. DPC is an alternative path to accessing primary care services that doesn’t involve insurance.

Technically no. Direct Primary Care is similar but much more affordable. Often Concierge providers charge an expensive yearly retainer (typically $2000 - $5000) and still bill your insurance. Both styles offer improved access to care and direct communication between patient and provider.

The $75 registration fee for each new member is paid at the time of enrollment and is non-refundable. We provide primary care services to our members, and are not insurance. Since urgent care, emergent care, and specialty services are often unpredictable, we encourage members to carry some form of health insurance to help pay for unplanned and catastrophic expenses.

We have lots of members with insurance who choose membership because it saves them money on healthcare. Insurance is simply a way to help fund healthcare. The Direct Primary Care model is self funded by you instead. Consider the cost of your premium, copay for appointments, the fee you get later after your visit, the cost for medications at the pharmacy, how much you are paying for blood work and imaging ... Papaya Primary Care may be a cheaper alternative. We provide primary care services to our members, and are not insurance. Medicare & Medicaid Unfortunately, you are NOT ELIGIBLE for membership if you are eligible for or currently enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid or are receiving services through the Hillsborough County Health Care Plan (HCHCP) comprehensive managed care program.
